Tires, my way

Tires tires tires, I hear lots a talkin about tires...

well, for whatever its worth, heres what im doing; needing new tires for
both my cars,, Both are every-other-daily drivers, both get ran plenty hard
from time to time & both get a winter tire/wheel swap so keep that in mind.

The '85 jetta is supposed to be the frugal one, and is as far as fuel, but
is pretty compelling to have fun, with Bilstein/H&R's Giles' pump't
franken-head'd 1.6TD veg oil burner, so i want something that wont fold a
sidewall and has good treadlife.
My choice then: Yokohama AVID TRZ 185/60 14 ..on teardrops..

The '95 S6 is my favorite and thats why i have one.. Get's me around
comfortably(anywhere ground clearance isnt unreasonable) and beats up plenty
of faster looking cars if they ask :] ... Here I am basically looking to get
the most grip, sidewall, treadlife, i guess in that order,, for the price.
My choice here: Hankook Ventus V12 in 235/45 17 ..on soon to be re-powder
coated black s4 avus'.. they were my winters for years but i changed my
mind..

My corporate-fiction corruption rant, and disheartened will to support local
businesses aside, I'ts looking like I will be ordering from discount tire
direct for $735 on *all eight tires*, shipped, after rebates.

I have several sources to mount/balance also, but anyone in their respective
area -i would think- could get a used tire shop to M&B a set for about 30
bucks..

our cent's dont make sense, but thats my .02
-brian
