Thanks Huw. I will turn one over and try that. I thought I paid attention to 
the way the old one came off, maybe I didn't.
Hopefully some else will confirm your theory. Anyway it won't be hard to 
fix.

BTW, congrats on the recent article in Wired. A little advertising always 
helps.

Not sure what you mean there, but the bearing allows the strut to turn
as necessary.

I think you may have installed them upside-down.  Rubber side (painted
green?) goes up.
