Coolant leak (NAC, but VAG)

Patient  - VW 1.8T
A bit of a silly situation - a coolant hose is sweating at both ends leaving
a bit of a pink crust and a bit of a smell.  It is a small diam. hose,
connecting the aux. coolant pump to a 3-way flange, where the temp. sensor
(thermal switch in VAG OEM speak) is located.  Broke an egg in coolant,
seems almost sealed, still smells a bit.
Anyone have a BTDT or an idea how to seal it, short of replacing it?
