Hard to say. I have never used anything but bosch, and frankly, have not seen a distributor in a decade!
That said, NAPA parts are generally very good. For example, their "gold" filters are WIX - much better than bosch.
So you might try NAPA.
And yes, an open circuit has negative effect on spark :-)
