Fox GLI?

Actually, the GTD was the GTi with a turbo diesel engine- rest of the world,
not us...sadly.  There was also a Scirocco Slegato- like a 16V and a GL, but
no 16V engine- for Canada.

I owned a 1981 Scirocco (MkI) with a 1984 engine/trans (MkII) that I 
re-badged "Scirocco GTI."

My sister had a 1982 Scirocco GL which was a bunch of power-convenience 
options in one package. (P/S, Cruise, P/W, etc.)

In 1978 there was a "Champagne Limited Edition" Scirocco.  I know there 
were Scirocco "S" models in the 1979-1980.  After that they were calling 
them "Wolfsburg Edition."

I believe the European market got a Scirocco GTX which was similar to 
the 16V version we got in the US.  I think there was even a GTD model 
Scirocco with a turbo-diesel engine.

AFAIK, there wasn't a Scirocco GLI made.....unless it was by the same 
person selling that Fox on Craigslist.  ;-)
