Timing

The "symptoms" would be that the timing is off.  Compare flywheel, 
camshaft pulley, and dizzy.  If they don't all line up at TDC, there are 
issues.

Vinnie (can I call you Vinnie?), you also might want to try to find a 
paper shop manual (published by Bentley) for the car.  I got one for 
$50, it was so unused it came with the publisher's postcards.  Now it is 
dirty and greasy and well-used.

They come on fleaBay and such from time to time.
