[urq] Alternator condition : how to test or evaluate ?

L-A,
I am no expert, but the other parts that can go wrong are the bearings can
go bad and the diodes can also go bad. The Audi Alternators are great in
that the Voltage Regulator and Brush Pack are one unit (which is what you
replaced). It is not uncommon for bearings to dry out and go bad. Have you
checked the actual output of the alternator? If it's good, then I'm guessing
bearings.
