Well I just put the "new" used FD today. So far so good. Idles a little
rough now but that might improve after a bit.

What it was doing (4000S Quattro 1985) was almost dying all of sudden at
random times. Sometimes at highway speeds and other times while just idling.
Pump the gas pedal and after a few pumps it would catch back and run fine
for maybe a couple of days until it happened again.

Poor running, and replacing the FD fixes it?
