I've used one of those little boosters sold by Sears to keep up the battery
on my wife's 97 Dorf van/campmobile the last two winters while we were in
Colorado. First year, the thing sat outside and accumulated a couple feet
of snow on its roof but kicked right over when we returned to MI in
January. Last winter it sat under cover all winter with the booster in
place and started just fine in the spring. You'll also want to put Stabil
in the tank now that our fuel goes to crap after a month or two of sitting.

Hi Y'all,
Got a small problem. We have a Ford Ranger ('95 if it matters) which
is used VERY little until hunting season comes around. The battery
tends to draw down to the point it won't start the engine. I figure
its caused by all those little parasitic loads drawing current all
the time (clock, lock radio receivers, etc.). I also figure a simple
little booster charger should solve the problem. So...
Do you have a favorite which works well for you for this purpose?
Bob
