tires wisdom? '88 80Q

I am on my second set of Sumitomo HTR+'s (they still called them that when I
bought my last set in June of 2009). They
are good handlers, good in the snow and quiet on the highway. I got 38,000 on my
last set (I run them at 35 psi).

My son had the Kumho Ecsta ASX's on his Impreza 2.5RS. They only lasted about
23,000 miles and while they handled
well in the dry, I felt that the winter traction was terrible.

Cheap all seasons? Sumitomo whatevertheycallthem (used to be HTR+
but no longer).

My Khumo high performance track tires are excellent. Have not used
their a/s.
