Can't say I have a lot of personal experience, but I have seen a lot of  
cars opened with a coat hanger. As recently as last week end a girl locked  
herself out at a gas station, Dodge Stratus, or similar. The guy from the  
neighboring upholstery shop opened it with a bent coat hanger. I noticed that 
he  put a lot more "pull" on the window frame thanI would have liked to do, 
and he  preferred trying to reach the interior door handle rather than the 
lock plunger.  This because modern plunger handles don't offer much purchase. 
The car did seem  to have a lot of weather sealing foam, this allowed 
significant freedom of  motion.
