And to add to that, I did one about 11 years ago in a friends V8Q, still
going strong. Same exact splice from Home Depot. Was familiar with them
from running power in the past.

BTW, for anyone who might be worried about water getting past heat shrink,
put a dab of silicone in each end before shrinking it down.

Also, check the power inputs to the fusebox, minght be some corrosion there
you are contending with. Easy enough to pop it up and check.
