2 common items:

1) The fuel injectors leak down when the car sits overnight. It takes
    some cranking (5-10 seconds) for the fuel pump to refill the lines.

2) (On the 200 20V turbos, so I'm guessing the 80/90s are the same,)
    There's a check vavle near the fuel tank to prevent gas from draining
    back. Same need for long cranking times.
