2.8 30v dies when coming to a stop (just once in a while)

Encountered this before with 3 memorable failures

Not sure if your 98 is AHA or ATQ, guessing AHA, but either way the
components are there on both codes.

Throttle Body/Throttle Calve Control Module

Crank Sensor/Engine Speed Sensor

Coil Pack

I've experienced different versions of all 3 though, from intermittent
fault to poor harness connection to bad vacuum..

I have experienced poor running conditions with the changeover valve or
intake mani. tuner, but don't think it would get you to stall. It's the
plastic lever arm assy, in between the coil pack and manifold, sometimes
the plastic breaks and is easy to spot, doubt that's your problem though.

If you can do an adaptation on the Throttle Body, that would be nice, just
to see if it responds and gives the field 4 "OK"

I'm willing to bet the little nest of vacuum lines above the intake boot
are worth replacing anyhow.

Good luck!
