Battery charger question

I personally have the "Multi US 7002" charger. First, I purchased it
because I have the need to service Optima Batteries. Optima won't warranty
a battery (at least through Interstate) unless it's been charged with a
CTEK before testing. I originally had a 7000 and after several years, it
failed. They replaced it with a 7002 under the (5 year?) warranty. And
best yet, all I had to do was exchange it with my Interstate distributor as
they are the local dealers. Seriously, when I called CTEK and told them
the unit was dead, after a few simple questions (verify that NO lights were
working) they said, "no problem, bring it back to the dealer and they'll
give you a new one." Frankly, Interstate didn't beleive me and they called
themselves to verify! Yup, just exchange it with a new one.

I've revived some nearly dead batteries that a Sears charger didn't touch.
The pulses of the CTEK do work, I've seen it. And several European
manufactuers, including Audi, recommend them (at least in Europe, not sure
about USA). At least on the 7002 model, there is a gel battery setting,
which I use for my Corvette battery and my 4 boat batteries (one start, 3
house, all Optima marine) during the winter.

Even though I've had one die, I'm quite pleased and highly reccomend them,
at least the 7002 model.
