Is this really leather?

Totally agree, but with a twist. Leather was an expensive option before and
only available on top vehicles, while now you can get leather seating
surfaces in a Wrangler or a Focus for 750$... This means the leather in
these cars is obviously from the bottom of the food chain, maybe from
cheap-labor foreign countries. Industrial leather, in a way...
But there is indeed some variations among comparable vehicles : a friend's
Volvo has leather that is a close cousin to cardboard, while the leather in
our Saab is still supple and clean. Both cars are from 2001 and both cars
have beige leather.
