ZF transmission filling

My '76 MGB has a side-filled transmission. Same type of deal, when it starts to
come out of the hole, it's full! But I am able to easily
guide a hose into the filler hole from the engine compartment, and let gravity
do it's thing.
My '65 B has a dipstick just behind the metal support for the dash, and is
access through a rubber plug in the interior. Much more
convenient, although you still need to use a hose or funnel with a flexible
connection....

I just used this on my wife's '01 A8L when I did the filter and fluid last
month.

and used about a 1 ft long piece of copper tubing bent to go in the stand
pipe and hang in there.
Poured 9 quarts of fluid in a clean 5 gallon bucket and started pumping.
It was quite easy compared to the way I tried to do it last time on my '97
A8.
