& what do you mean by that? <grin>
I bought my first VW product in late 1980, a Rabbit Diesel. The 1981 models
were already on the dealer floor. I specifically told the dealer to find me a
1980 model "mit Dieselmotor" and I remember saying out loud (at the dealership)
the 1981 Rabbits were too Americanized for my tastes.
My wife drives a 2006 VW Passat that again I think was way too Americanized.
Red turn signals on the rear? No metric speedo markings? English inscriptions
on the cruise control lever?
I wonder what this new VW model to be made in Chattanooga will look like...
Mandatory Audi Content: My 1933 100 is currently off the road due a bad fuel
pump & bad heater blower motor. At $3.30/gallon for premium gas & ~22 MPG I
will stick to driving my 1998 VW Jetta TDI which is giving me around 42 MPG
average fuel economy. I would like to fix the 100 when the weather improves so
I can nurse her to the 200,000 mile point. Overall, she has served me well.
