F1 drivers use the team owned multi-million dollar simulators, not console
games. GPS modeled tracks are not actually all that good since commercial
GPS accuracy is not very good (a foot or two in any axis at BEST). The good
simulators that the normal person can get, and the ones that F1 drivers use,
use laser point cloud scanned tracks which are accurate down to the exact
texture of the asphalt. The map of the Korean GP course in that game isn't
accurate at all since it was done before the final track surface was lain
and doesn't have the right dimensions and lacks the correct bumps. The bumps
in turn 6 especially (which are not included in the game) are said to have
slowed the lap time by half a second at least because they had to lift for
what otherwise would have been a WOT corner.
