Type 8D ECU location?

Quick question: where is the engine control unit located in a 2000 A4 (Type
8D?) During the big rainstorms in SoCal a few weeks ago, my son's car took
on a load of water via the sunroof due to a plugged drain. It no longer
starts so I was wondering whether water (virtually up to the door sills) in
the passenger compartment could reach this module. Thanks.
