95 A5q Radio options

I'm in the process of replacing the Bose system in my 1990 V8 with a very
low end Pioneer CD tuner AND an MP3 connection port on the front and two
6x9s in the back deck. It cost less than $200 total from Crutchfield with a
promotion on the speakers since they're also Pioneer. I've been happy with
Pioneer stuff in the past and expect this to do everything that we need. No
audiofile aspirations whatsoever here.

Subject: 95 A5q Radio options
I have a 95 A6q with a stock radio that is driving me nuts.
I like to listen to books on tape when I drive and the current tape player
is very finicky about what it will and will not play.
So, it is time for a change.
The solution would be one of 3 things:
1) a working stock radio (anything from late 80's to 1995 will likely work)
or
2) a compatible non stock radio that accepts CDs and Aux input / Ipod
connection
or
3) recommendations for a cheap new unit that will work with my car and can
play CDs with Aux and/or Ipod inputs.
My library also offers the books on tape as downloadable files that are Ipod
compatible. So, I'm also looking for a cheap Ipod if anyone has one of
those hanging around. I think that just about anything but a shuffle will
work, since I would rather listen to my books on tape in the order they were
written, rather than try to piece the story together from a non-linear
shuffle-inspired fashion.
Thanks,
Tom
