Bad turbo

Right so that check engine light is a bad turbo according to dealer.  Under waranty but otherwise a $4000 repair.

They say the wastegate is stuck open and not repairable. Is the turbo on this car an assembly of some sort and turbo and wastegate are a single unit?

This is obviously very disappointing for a four year old car with 40 000 miles.

After all the orther problems this car has had i will probably be dumping it once its fixed
