How long can you drive??

You can actually drive quite a while. This is from my own experiences when
discovering a torn boot at the oil change but not knowing when it happened.
No symptoms such as squealing, popping, clanking either before or after.
Since the CV joint doesn't move much except when the drive axle and hub are
non-aligned (eg. cornering), it can survive quite some time, thousands of
miles.
