Has it been very humid with rain where you're at? I had a similar
experience with my '90 200TQA about 2 weeks ago. At one point it would
crank and crank with zero sign of life. Did the usual suspects as you
did. I hit the fuse box with compressed air, pulled & blasted the spades
and sockets and the car was like new again.
Audi must have sent it's engineers to study at Lucas, it's the only
explanation for locating the fuse boxes where they did. VW got it right
with the Karman Ghia, the fuses were right above the ash tray IIRC, they
needed wiggling once in a while too.
