That's actually a B6 platform. Check the usual things, all the control arms,
sway bar links, check for oil leaks, when the TB was last done. I really
like the 3.0 engine. It has a good bet more power than the 2.8, it's all
alluminum, and my experience with customer cars has been very good. There
are reports of problems with the 3.0's, though, and someone from the list
will probably pop in to list them. I don't have any expereince with these
areas, as all of the ones I work on have been pretty bulletproof. The CVT
trans in the front drives, on the other
hand..............................................
One thing to check though, is pull the oil cap and look at the bottom of it.
If it's got cacked on stuff there, plan on dropping the oil pan. The good
news is, on the V6's, you can drop just the lower pan. Much easier than the
4-cyl's. then, clean all the carbon out of hte pickup tube. If it's clean in
there, dont' worry about it, and just enjoy.
