Howdy Folks,
I'd like to introduce my new-to-me 2008 Audi A4 2.0tq automatic with 31k miles
which I just picked up yesterday evening. It's the newest and most expensive
Audi I've ever bought at $17k given that I usually pick up my Audi's for 5k or
less and end up doing a fair bit of wrenching on them to get them up to speed.
But I figured since I'm getting a little older and the wrenching is getting a
little harder, why not treat one self to some (hopefully) trouble-free and
wrench-free drive time.
No ABS lights, no CEL, the stereo works, no TB issues for another 40K miles at
least, no leaks to worry about, heating and cooling work great. Feels good to
just drive a car and not worry about these things. Felt great on the highway.
I was amazed at the pickup on the highway and in local traffic. Engine felt
very smooth for a 2.0 and pulled strongly. Wow, it's a nice powertrain! Too
bad my daughter is going to be driving it more than I am. It's way too nice for
a teen!
I traded in my 97 A4 18tqa which had a couple of issues, but have no fear, I
still have the 99 A6 2.8q Avant that still needs to be wrenched on every now and
then. I hope she doesn't get too jealous and breakdown more often now that I
have a younger and sexier Audi in the garage.
Anyway, hoping my issues on the A4 will be things like "What color window tints
match a silver car?" or "How do you reset the service light?" instead of "I'm
getting a CEL for a MAF failure, what should I check first?" or "Do I really
need to pull the entire dash out just to replace the heater core? You're
kidding, right!?!?!".
