I like the "....the car_will_ get fixed" deal, but can only imagine what the
labor will be like. Case in point, about a year and a half ago, I had my
ignition switch replaced at the dealer, had to succumb, because it was a
dire situation. Labor total was $420.00!!!!! at $170/hr, and parts were only
$178.05. At least they gave me a loaner- I live 3 hours away!!!! It was the
then new A3 TDi S-line.

Subject: Diagnostic fee limit

Just discovered an Audi dealership in Cleveland (Sunnyside) which sets an
absolute $500 cap on dealer diagnostic fees, applicable to any model year
Audi, after which regional company specialists show up and "....the car
_will_ get fixed" with no more diagnostic fees.

Found this out talking with a local 95.5 S6 owner who spent months and many
hundred dollars at an independent, trying to get a mysteriously stubborn S6
to start and run. It didn't, and eventually the owner had it towed to a
dealer 60 miles away....Sunnyside is still working on it and it still isn't
running. But there is a cap on what the dealer will charge for diagnostics.
I thought the list might not be aware of that cap, since many of us avoid
dealers. Maybe some of you can verify that this is a nationwide Audi dealer
policy.
