I had a rear oil pan bolt come out of a WX 10V, drop into the bellhousing, and take out 2 pins some years ago. Ended up pulling the tranny to find/fix the problem.

I've had them cleaned off twice by loose ball bearings from a dying release bearing. They'll ricochet around in there, but can't get out. Only option was to drop the trans at that point, I was working on a 200 20v car, you might be able to remove the alum engine to trans brace and see if anything falls out.
