'91 CQ AC Clutch

Sounds like the electromagnet in back may have some broken wires. Basically,
the clutch front is steel, and there is a large winding of wire behind it
which gets 12V. When it does, it creates a magnetic field that pulls the
clutch back and engages it. The windings may have broken inside, making the
magnetic field weaker, which is why you have to push it in to engage, but
then it will hold. You can replace it without discharging the system in most
cars, but I don't have any BTDT on the CQ.
