In my parts, there are many diesel pickups.  The biggest modification is to
modify the wastegate, cut out the airbox, and then put on dual stacks, like
the ones on over the road trucks.  The spewing of carbon filled exhaust is
insane, and the prodigious amount of power emanating is nuts.  Of course,
hearing that idle, and hearing the turbo spool is sweet music to a
motorhead, like me, even though hearing a sports car, or a well tuned Audi
works wonders for the ears too.

I don't have the Dodgey ...my bud at work does. It's automatic with some
pumped up tranny work... 700lbs tq or something stupid on it. 12v is more
reliable...and MUCH cheaper to work on / get parts for.  I'm always on the
lookout for a good example...i want to add this baby to my stable.  My
friends GMC Diesel with the Alison tranny is a nightmare. It's a boat anchor
literally after massive head failure... lot of technology but at what
price....

Yup, these 12v Dodges are pretty amazing...especially if you do a little bit
of work to them...the turbo sounds awesome!

I've driven quite a few, and prefer the older 12V's over the 24V's for the
lower maint. Power is pretty similar, a little better in the 24V.

The reason for the fuel pressure guage is to watch for the impending doom of
the electric fuel pump mounted ont eh side of the block. When it goes, the
Injector pump will be forced ot such the fuel, which it is not designed to
do. $3500 later you will be back on the road :(

If you mostly drive easy, light trailers, and flat ground, the brakes may
not be an issue. However, down mountain passes, even in an empty truck, will
warp the rotors pretty quickly. BTDT several times before finally upgrading.
