remote locking - RF version

Hi Y'all,

For several months the RF remote door locks have been key only 
operated.  The remote has not worked.

Note:  these remotes are the RF remotes of the '95.5 (and later) 
model S6 not the IR remotes of the earlier models - no IR sensors on 
the outside of the B column.

The remotes (two of them) have new batteries.  I have used the 
(whadyacallit?) reset procedure (key in ignition and turned on while 
pressing both buttons of the remote to get a beep from the locking 
system.  There is no joy in Muddville - mighty Casey has struck out.

I suspect that the IR receiver in the car may have seen its last 
days.  The thingie is s'posed to be under the back seat, 
right?  Where?  Which module under there is it?  Anybody have a known 
working piece either for sale or available for a short term loan for 
testing purposes?
