power steering pumps: A1 Cardone versus ZF

I don't think the 'general public' rebuilders are very good at what they do.
I ordered a rebuild from Jorgen (very reputable) that was rebuilt by a
company in Arizona. Turned out that the pump I was replacing in my urS4 was
rated at 120bar while the replacement was rated at 100bar (after scraping
the paint of the tag). Neither party would admit error and I wound up paying
the restocking fee.

I later bought the $400+ correct (and well built) pump from SJS.

Make sure you get a guarantee. Good luck.
