1991 Audi 200T Auto-tranny Qs

I have a 89 Audi 200, basically the same car as the one you are
looking at. The problem with these cars isn't the engine (generally)
it's all the other expensive stuff that surrounds it. For instance,
my car is essentially free (I already own it) and it's not worth
putting the money into it to make it safe enough to drive. It needs
brake and suspension work, and that would cost $1000's in just parts
(not counting my labor.) You really can't test what may be wrong
with the brakes or suspension unless you get the car up to road
speed. Fortunately for me (I guess) the car flooded in Hurricane
Irene, making the decision to haul it to the scrap yard very easy.
