Yesterday I watched my last 4000 Quattro drive off into the sunset. In the
trunk was Bentley and all the spares. In 1989 I found a 82 4000, which
obviously sparked my desire for a Quattro. In 1992 I found my first Quattro
which necessitated the search for a 'family' of like minded individuals to
keep the car running. This is when I discovered audifans. I was probably on a
286 with a land line connection but the mechanical help I was able to
receive was invaluable. Since 89 I have gone thru 2-4000's, 2-4000 Quattros
and a 80 Quattro. I kept them running with the help from this list. There was
just something about the two 85 4000 Q's that was so addictive that I was
even started searching for a URQ. I never scored on the URQ, and in
retrospect, as life became more complicated, I really didn't need another hobby.
My last 4000 is gone, it was a 'Garage Queen', just too nice to be a Daily
Driver. The car has a new owner, a new life and now I can get back under the
hood of my 96 A4 2.8 Avant and try to fix that #!&#ing collant leak coming
someplace out of the rear of the motor.
Thanks audifans for the help over the years....I sure there will be more
questions soon.
Jim
