[WT-Audifans] RE: Brake Pad Wear Warning Light

I know the whitish symbol with the "X over the light bulb with the socket
end up" displays certain light bulb(s) not illuminating. This light has
illuminated before. I changed out a bulb and cured the problem.

The whitish brake drum symbol is illuminating which according to the Audi
manual indicates worn front brake pads, only in my car's case the sensor
wires have been disconnected.

It might be the brake lamp warning symbol, not the pads, a light bulb with
an X through it with the brake drum parentheses on either side. It would
only come on after pressing the brake pedal though if one of your lamps was
not working.

This whitish brake warning light with the symbol of a brake drum illuminates
where the "OK" light would illuminate, top centre between the left and right
arrow green turn signal indicators.

Hmmm, interesting. I guess it's not one of those lights that comes on when
you start the car. I just checked. There is a

blank space in the top center of the gauge cluster. Just strange that it
would not be in the OM. I guess this time, 'RTFM'
doesn't apply!

Your car should have the same light, all B6's I've worked on do. In fact,
the one in the shop does. It's in the top of hte center display, shows a
yellow circle with yellow "parenthesis" on either side.
