Battery Drain

I'm just going to get the full alternator and call it a day. It looks like
it can be replaced while up on jack stands, too. Thank you, Audi, for
putting the alternator in a good location.
My engine has an oil leak that I'm not too worried about solving right now
that drips onto the alternator. Could that be a point of failure? Also,
has anyone had experience cleaning the battery connection on the frame rail?
What did you use to clean it and then protect it?
Thanks,
V
