Or you can install a Delco alternator, about $75 new or $39 rebuilt, knowing
that every auto supply store in the country has several of them on the
shelf. The one for a 1979 Camaro 350 is usually a good place to start. It
took me about 30 minutes to make the swap on my VW.

Hi, all!
What's everyone's opinion of the Duralast alternators from Autozone? The
one I'm looking at (AZ p/n:13430 comes with a lifetime warranty and lists
for about 154.00. Or, should I go for the Bosch unit (Bosch p/n:AL0715X)
for
almost 200 from JC Whitney with a 1 yr warranty?
Third, has anyone ever made an alternator cover so oil/crap doesn't get
on/in it? My alternator is cooled by an air duct, so I'm not worried about
overheating it too much.
Thanks in advance,
Vincent
