Replacing cats on A4

I"m a little late to the party, but I remove them from underneath, sort of
behind. I use about 3 feet of extension, and a swivel. That top one on the
passenger (right) side I put teh swivel on teh end of the 3 footer, then
put an 8" after it with the 13mm socket after that. I've done dozens this
way.

BTW, have your O2's been replaced on the car? The fronts can be replaced
with a generic ford application (4-wire) while the rears are more than
likely a 5-wire (depending on year) and will need to be OEM style if that's
the case. If they are 4-wire as well, you can use generic ones for that as
well. I always buy the bosch, and use the application 1993 Ford F150 5.0L.
These are identical to the OEM Audi ones, with the exception of the plug.
They are $40 through worldpac, makes me wonder why it costs $50 for the
"special" Audi plug.
