Coolant Temp Sender

Hi All,

So I've got some issues with my 99 A6 28q Avant.  One is the auxilliary fan does not come on when the A/C is turned on.  I thought I had fixed this issue last year when I installed a new temp sender in the lower right radiator hose and fixing the shorted wire.  But this year the problem seems to have returned.  The other question I have is how many temp senders does A6 have?  I know there is one on the lower right side on the hose just before it goes into the radiator.  Should there be one on the lower left side in the actual radiator?

Also, the temp gauge sometimes works but most of the times it just wont move.  The t-stat was changed with the t-belt about 2 years ago.

I might start looking into some of these issues on the w/end or I might just put my feet up and relax over the long weekend.  Anyways, ideas appreciated so that I can mull over them the next few days.
