Anybody use G-Oil?

I double checked.

Bentley and the owner's manual allow for 3 specs and 3 grades:

1 ACEA A2 or A3[B4]
2. API SJ
3. VW 502

The also specify

0W30
5w30
5w40

Now, those are not identical.  But the only differences come at high temps.  In fact, below high temps, thicker oils and/or wider ranges only serve to reduce flow (that is the definition of the word viscosity after all) or to make shear more likely (due to the addition of VIIs).  The eagle eyed may say "but 5w30and 5w40 are identical at lower temps, by definition".  Yes, in theory. Not in practice,and the API and ACEA graphs make this very clear, as do the cSt specs.

So, in conclusion, there is little evidence that one needs VW502 unless you want to extend drain intervals, which i never suggest.
