[urq] URQ steering rack seals

I can indeed get to the mounting bolts in the "left" wheelwell on this side of the pond, but with a 20V conversion and having switched to vacuum brakes the fittings are unreachable.
Would any Euro lister be interested or able to send me a kit from the "hinter-land"?
It would set me back quite a bit time wise, but I would like to get this done.

?
Of course you can service the rack with the tranny in - you do it through
he right wheel well.
We had no problem sourcing a rebuild kit about three months ago - South
ereford Audi didn't even comment.

ell after calling the usual sources it appears these service kits are nla.
here were 2 supposedly left in the US. Computer was incorrect and the 2
its did not exist on the shelf.
sn't there a source that rebuilds the racks? I thought I remembered some
ist talk about owners sending them to a company that handled it like the
hokan House of Hose does the power steering units? If so - where do they
et their parts?
really want to get the tranny back in the URQ, but there will be no way to
ervice the rack once its in.

es the seal is available as a service kit from audi .
1498020B
t contains several o-rings , the seal you need , and a couple of sleeves
d mounting aids .
e sleeves are needed to protect the seal from damage when sliding it on .
t's explained in detail in the audi 90/Coupe bentley cd-rom with drawings
d how to's .
e cd I've got is Windows98 only , and I can't get it to run under XP .

While the tranny is out of my URQ, I thought it would be a good time to
look at the leaking rack.
I have a spare that I took apart and found the seal that needs to be
renewed. It's not that complicated really.
Is the seal available - and if so from where?
