No, and I wouldn't, and NO. They're intended to last as long as they
last. One car may go 300K, another 50K, although the latter is
unlikely. If you keep driving it, the likelihood of terminal damage
increases with every mile. There is NO way to prevent the cam sensor
code from appearing. Well, possibly a tuner could do it, I don't know,
but the sensor setting a code is like your tooth aching. It's reporting
a problem that isn't going away until it's properly treated.
