Thank you all for commenting and narrowing down the possibilities.
The "shifting pulley halves" seems to be the only logical explanation.
Like you say, I'm not going to worry about it, since the piston and
the flywheel coincide properly. I made a second mark on the timing
belt cover and will check after some time if the pulley is still
shifting. Thanks to all!

If this is the case, would such a pulley be prone to complete destruction
in a short period of time ?

Then the damper pulley outer surface has shifted on the rubber, relative
to the inner portion. Seen that too, but not as often as a
sheared key. Either way, as mentioned by many, just use the flywheel mark
for the crank.
