MC2 running lean quattro Digest, Vol 101, Issue 8

Ground on the IM manifold and the fuel distributor. 
Did the potentiometer become clogged like fuel injectors could have?
Timing Belt a tooth or two off?

From June last year the car has been virtuallyundriveable. You name it, I've replaced it, tested it and tried it. Hoses,sensors, injectors, fuel pump, filters... brand new and double checked.
