It is designed to turn itself off when under-pressurized or
over-pressurized. Maybe you do not yet have enough R134a in system? Possibly
the pressure only rises enough when above 1500 rpm? Just a guess really.
Maybe you should buy or borrow a set of gauges to monitor the pressure as
