Cam question???

I will post pic tomorrow on photobucket.

I have heard that cam and followers must be changed together. NO new cam with old followers or visa versa. Is this true?
Scorch marks – To me, that means the metal has been heated by a high temperature. Like an exhaust header pipe when the mixture is too lean and upon cool down that area appears blue/purple.  
I know, take a picture.

Take a pic so others can opine....

I seriously doubt there's anything amiss. Cams are surface hardened and I think the followers are softer metal so if any abrasion took place it would be on the followers.
