Sold my last Audi

Sorry to hear kent. I know how it goes. Certainly most don't own audis
for some fiscally responsible reason, they are a car brand that typically
requires higher maintennce intervals and costs. However, I find the
driving reward often worth it. You certainly pay, either upfront or down
the line for a nice driving car with all the amenities audi's offer.

I am in the middle of an A8 revival which will end up costing about 2k and
a week of my life, but I feel that when I am done, having a leak free,
sharp handling A8 with all piece of mind maintance taken care of, will be
plenty well the reward. I enjoy the reliability of my miata or corolla,
but even the ten years newer corolla is nothing close to the A8, or even
your 99 A4, really.

Perhaps, however, you had one of the more trouble prone year/model
combinations, and that probably didn't help. I tend to see the v6's as
more reliable, call me crazy... but don't lose hope. I'd personally love
to hear you fall in love with a diesel passat or even a jetta. The passat
is a nicee car, and the diesel may be nice with its mileage and improved
longevity.

Best of luck in your search!
