1. When you switched from "special" euro synthetics to dino, you matched grade, right?
What was the grade? Did the dyno meet the same specs - e.g.; ACEA A3 for Porsche?  That one is critical for a stressed motor.
Who's dino 5w40 do you use?  Does it meet A3/B4? Or is it not really a 5w40....?

2. As to:

That's an "AMEN". 

But you also cant use an inappropriate oil - e.g.: one that does nto flow cold and allow hydraulic vario-cams to operate properly; notr ones that shear hot, resulting in premature, catastrophic, failure of stressed motors (e.g.; track use).
