Running on 5 of 6 cylinders - running out of suggestions

Our 1995 A6q avant was running on 5, hard miss, and it was cured by running a strong dose of injector cleaner. It happened suddenly, and cleaned up within not all that many miles of running a very strong dilution of Techron in the fuel. The miss was so bad it seemed like a cylinder was flat. This was at around 125k miles, or so, on a motor that has since gone another 100k+ miles. If compression is good on all six, I would suggest looking for a clogged injector as a possibility.
