2008 A4 : pre-purchase inspection

Apparently they do carbon up..not sludge up.  Direct Injection means intake
valves don't get cleansed... (or so i've read.).   1000-1500 to get them
cleaned from what I gather...doesn't need to happen that often, but it is
an expense.

Worth it? Hell yeah.  The 2.0 vs 1.8 is a night and day engine... I loved
my 2.0t..and may get another in wagon form.  It was nice even with teh 6spd
automagic.
